Nail ArtBox Photoshoot - e Secret reveal !!

There are alot people thought i had a "Someone" helping me with e Nail ArtBox's photography. If you also thought so... well.. you are wrong!

The cameraman is ME! e one who design e nail design is ME! e model is ME! e stage designer and makeup artist is ME! A one-man show
BUT
with 101% support from all my friends, family,
my apple(iPhone & iMac) and Gigi(Canon G11).

I love photography and also painting nails. So i took a little step further and try to combine them. Putting in a little more effort, i paired my naily design with suitable props and theme. i hope my readers will look at these nail art from a different angle. Painting on these 10 tiny canvas is my passion and doing photo taking every weekend seem to be a routine of mine now. ;)

Every weekend morning, i pray for fine weather with lovely sun. Other than it aids in e laundry, Natural sunlight is e main essence of Nail ArtBox photography. The beautiful rays helps to conceal fine lines on my hands, and also bring out e true colors.

Each photography session, including preparation, it can takes approximately from 30 min to 2 hours. When i am thinking of e nail design, i need to consider e props/theme at e same time. For some shoots, i would need to borrow props from my friends. Thank god they are all very supportive and helpful. Example e Hello Kitty , those cutie plush toy are borrowed from my friend's friends =) She is a loyal Hello Kitty fan, but she allows me to open these kitties from e wrapping. =)

Enough of saying,
Let me show you some of e

NG!!Behind e scene!Pictures!

You may seem this type of photography somewhere - Capturing the image using e mirror reflection. Doing this alone is quite a challenge. Finding e angle in e mirror is not easy, e only help i have is e self timer and vari-angle on Gigi.
These set of picture took me around 1.5 hr to 2hr... There are a lot of NGs!!!
Wrong angle - cannot see e nails in e mirror.
Opps - i Blink my eyes! Same time with e shutter! Argh!
Another wrong angle. Cannot see face, cannot see my naily... Sighz...

Next pose !
Usually first shot is to estimate e angle, and position.
This... obviously is out of picture.
Try again~~

NG!

Looks ok..
but... Wait!
This is a nail blog, not promo for makeup blusher..
NG! My fingers are not in e right position.

Finally angle is right! The fingers position are correct too!
But it look like e brusher is poking my nose =(

Usually, in a series, i have a few shoots, showing different angles e nails.
At least one close up and one mid range shot is needed.
This is a nice Close up shoot - but failed - no focus

For some design, i need to show all 10 naily, so you can see e different colors/designs. So thinking of pose can be quite a headache.

When i cannot think of any... I start to squeeze my brain juice, trying and testing different pose/angle.. adjust here and there.. And looking silly at times..

When all don't works, i start getting cranky..
..making funny faces at e camera..

Very often, i'm being laughed at by my hubby when he saw me posing silly in front of e camera, with makeup and a well-dressed top but with pajamas bottom. Wahahhaa..
Oh well, i think other bloggers did that too?
*hee

A Big Thanks to all Nail ArtBox's readers.
You guys are my motivation

Smile
